Google Day #2

3 Goals For the Day:

• Find a good page on youtube to watch photoshop videos.
• Try to change eye color.
• Try to change hair color

Link: http://www.youtube.com/user/ShadowTutorials: This is usefull  because it tought me how to do different things in photoshop. I saw lots of this videos just to see what I found interesting and what I wanted to do in the future.

I learned how to photoshop and how to use each tool for selecting different things. I used the eye tutorial for the hair because I wanted t practice a little bit more. I finally understood how to use photoshop and those tutorial where very helpfull so I want to watch some more of them. I also discovered you can whiten teeth, put on fake makeup, etc. One new skill I have is selecting things and then changing the color, saturation and brightness.

 

 What I want to learn for next class is how to change clothes color but making it look a little bit more real that I did with the hair.

 

Storyboard that

This is the website

Purpose:
The purpose of this site is to get everybody to be on the same page because it is easier and more fun than just written words. This helps you focus on the end goal and keeping discussions from getting out of subject so people can decide where they want to go.

How to use the site:

• Click on create a storyboard
• Choose a character by looking thru the tabs: adults, youngins, stickies, silouhettes, funky or corporate.
• Grab the character you want and drag it into your storyboard.
• Next to the character in the little square click on the image that says rotate to rotate the character or the one that says copy to copy it. The red x is for deleting the character.You can also choose what layer it is in.
• Add as many characters as you want.
• Click on the scenes tab and drag the scene you want into the stroyboard. Click on the different tabs there are to search for different scenes.
• You can rotate the scene like you did with the character and enlarge it with the little circles on the corners. You can also choose which layer you want it on and copy and earase it with the x and copy signal.
• Move you character around the room by dragging it, you can go back to the characters tab and add more characters.
• Then go to the textables tab and choose any bubble you want and add it into the story by dragging it
• You can copy or delete the bubble using the same buttons, choose the layer or rotate it as you want.
• You can also put free writing so you can write on it without using any bubbles.
• To write just start writing on the keyboard and it will appear on the bubble. Change the size by clicking on the number ten and then scrolling down to choose which size you want. To change the font click on arial and then scroll down and choose the one you want.
• Then click the wireframes and on the screens tab. Choose the screen you want and drag it into your storyboard. 
• To enlarge, rotate, delete, copy or choose the layer do the same as you do with the rest of the objects you put into the storyboard.
• Click on the widgets tab and choose any widget you want and drag it into the storyboard, repeat the last step to edit your widget.
• Repeat all this steps for the second and third box.
• When you are done scroll down to change to six cells, delete all or save it. You need an account to save it or just screenshot it.

How you might use this site:

• Create more creative presentations
• Create a comic
• Create a story
• Do a storyline for another piece of work you might have.

1.) I agree tech has taken over the world. Cellphones, laptops and other type of tech have taken all over and school. For example in MIT students claim they can multitask. I believe they do multitask but they can't be 100 percent involved in anything.

2.) I disagree with multitasking when it’s more than 3 things. For example in California they proved that you can't be focused 100eprcent in something and you become slower when you multitask because you become distracted and need to get concentrated again.

3.) I agree that the internet is affecting our brain, for example in the study of the internet and Google on your brain you have more areas in use but I don't think that is good because it is taking lots of energy from the body to the brain.

4.) I agree that technology is addictive because kids now days can't get off of their technology or games because they become addictive, sometimes kids even die for playing too much so I do believe it is addictive.

5.) I agree people get easily distracted with technology because they get an urge to figure a question or to "take a break" when they are really just getting distracted.

6.) I agree with the internet rescue camps because they help kids interact with the real world not just technology.

7.) I agree technology helps people change and societies into a new way because we now use technology for almost everything. It might not always be good but I think it’s true.

8.) I agree we people of the new generation are a new type of person because we don't to what people used to do. We use technology to do more of the things.

9.) I think internet etiquette is important to learn because then you know how to use it in a good way since you are little instead of just guessing and trying new things.

10.) I agree people who were born with technology are different from people who learned how to use it because native kids do it since they were little.

11.) I agree kids should be fluent in technology and communication because that is what the world will need in jobs in the future.

12.) I agree technology helps kids be more interested in school but I think they might get bored easily so they try to multitask which makes you slower.

13.) I disagree with teachers seeing the kid’s screens because it is your private computer and your personal things. It’s your responsibility and they should let you be responsible and use tech at your own risk.

14.) I agree with people using spark notes to read books instead of actually reading and that they do not put 200 page novels because kids won't read it. I agree because there are other things students need to do than just reading

 15.) I agree technology might be taking something away from us such as memory or concentration but it is also giving us lots of very useful things like multitasking or information or the ability to do things faster.

16.) I disagree with people trying to live in the web. There are games like Sims in which you can interact with other people like it was real life but online. You do get new experiences you might never get before such as being a king when you are just a normal person.

17.) I agree that we do immerse in games because it’s like real life and we can interact with it instead of just watching it or listening to it. Games do give you that extra experience other internet tool can’t give you.

18.) I agree people do want to connect with new people but not that they play games to do it. I think people play games so they can live the life they could never live like in World of War craft they meet people which they consider themselves friends.

19.) I agree people are alienated from the people around them and the world in general but they are still connected and interacting with people that are generally very far away. They do alienate themselves and communicate with people around them but they do this thru technology.

20.) I do not agree with people using technology games at work to interact with other people that are next to them. I don’t agree with using this to replace travelling like they do in IBM because I think human interactions are completely essential

Summary:

•  Summer programs for people looking to get into good colleges are useful. This are most useful so you get to experiencing a little bit of each college, do you like it, which one do you want to go to, what classes do you plan to attend. This summer courses also help you see all the different subject there are to study such as languages, physics, languages, film and anthropology. Some of this programs, such as the one in Harvard lets you get University Credits you can use later on. They do not help you get into better colleges but they do let you experience them. Summer schools can also give you credits for high school if you failed the class but need to get the credits.

New Questions:

• Do boarding schools help you get into a better college?

Nanotechnology

What I know:

• Nanotechnology has been researched a lot in the last decade.
• It is very useful for governments and security agencies.
• It is very complex technology but also used for everyday life such as ipods, calculators and cellphones.
• Nanotechnology helps things be lighter and smaller but as powerful as big machines
• It has improved a lot in the last years for example in computers, they used to be huge but now they are small and light but still powerful.

What I want to learn:

• Who develops this technology
• Examples of some of this technology
• How it helps with health issues

What I learned:

• Nanotechnology is using molecules to build things the things built are very small and sometimes even smaller than a cell.
• Nanotechnology has found some spots in the DNA that decide whether you will or will not have the cancer gene.
• Thanks to nanotechnology a bio sensor was created to help diagnose if a person has cancer.
• Lots of things with the name nanotechnology are not actually nanotechnology because they are not built atom by atom.
• There are 4 generations of nanotechnology development, each of them is different and it goes from passive nanostructures to active nano structures to systems of nano systems to molecular nano systems. The order goes form least specified to more specific. The oldest one is passive nano structures and the newer one is molecular nano systems.

How it Relates to my Life:

• It relates yo my life because in a uncertain future nanotechnology might take over the building of things. Things might be build from a molecular level so they can be more exact and specific so there is a shorter margin of error. I am interested in nanotechnology because it is the smallest way there is to build something. In the future everything might be made by nanotechnology so it involves everyone.

Questions I still Have:

• Why is nanotechnology so important and why do people want things to be built from atoms not normal building blocks.
• What things that we might use might be created from this technology.

Google Day 1

Three goals I have for today:

1.) Download photoshop in my computer

2.) Find out what photoshop is used for
-Photoshop is used for lots of different things like editing images by correcting colors, adding text to image, reducing size, enlarging the imagr and changing the format. You can also create web pages and logos with different designs. Also you can create 3-D content and animations.

3.) Figure out why people use photoshop
-People use photoshop to edit images when the picture is not how they want it. This is called photo-manipulation

What I learned this class is that photoshop is not as simple as it seems, I learned there are lots of different tools and you can easily get confused with them. I also learn you can create lots of very cool things in photoshop if you know how to actually do it. Photoshop can be a very usefull tool if I learn how to use it correctly and how to do what I want.

What I want to do next class is try to put an image in front of another so it looks like something completely different than the image actually is. Also i want to learn how to put different effects on the image.

Google 20%

I would like to learn how to use photoshop in a more advanced way. Exactly what I would like to learn about photoshop is to edit pictures and be able to put words in it. It would be very fun to be able to edit your own pictures for projects. I think this would be helpful because my projects could be more original and I could do cool edits and post it on tumblr and get a lot of reblogs. I think learning this would also help me do something useful with my time. This could help me long term if I want to work as a media person or someone who creates advertisements. Id like to know how to move things in a picture and how to do collagues by cutting pictures and putting them together.

The way I would like to show what I learned is to do a webpage about photoshop. It would be kind of my own portafolio with all the work I have done and all the things I have learned. I'd show my learning by putting my own edits in several ways. The title would be created by me in photoshop and the background would also be personalized by me.
