Google Glasses

-What you know about the topic before your research
I know the google glasses are glasses that look normal but really contain lots of information. They are like two mini computer screens on your eyes. I know it is a very great advance in technology and I know some people compare them to the people in Wall-E.

-What you wonder or questions you have about the topic before researching (at least 2)
I wonder what the glasses have (camera?).
I wonder how to control the glasses.

-Links to where you found the most useful information (at least 2, NOT Wikipedia, although you can use it to help you)
Googles page: explains what it does and some cool features.
Page with different opinions: showed me peoples point of view as well as positive and negative things.

-Bullet list of things you learned about the topic (at least 5)
The glasses are controlled by voice
It can give you directions
You can wear them with other glasses
You could be part of an experimentation group
The price is around the same as a regular smartphone.

-A short summary of how this topic connects/relates to you or your life
This topic connects to my life because depending on this the glasses might not work here in Colombia. If the glasses do work I might buy one and use it. I might have a smartphone and glasses or I might just choose one. Depending on the results the glasses might reach the Colombian market which might affect me because it is where I live. I might be a consumer of this product and I might recommend it so it does affect me and my life.

-Questions you still have (at least 1)
How do they make the glasses so they dont damage your eyes or cause problems.

Design Project Day 5

I think we succedeed at making the game fun because we did it very colorful and we where also to able to incorporate prizes which is exactly what we wanted to do.

The biggest problem we encountered definitely was finding out a way to put the prizes on the box in an easy way that could be easy yet well designed. What we did is cut 3 sides of a square into a box and fold them backwards where we put the prizes. It was an easy yet smart solution we had.

Our AHA HA idea was when we decided to incorporate prizes in the game and when we came up with the idea on how to do that. It was in my opinion what made the game so successful.

Me because I thought the ideas they had where not as good as they could be. I also thought the possibility of this ideas resulting where not likely. We mostly agreed in everything.

That the game would be so difficult and no kid would be able to get a prize. This was not the case they even told us it was a tad easy. We overcame those doubts by making the squares different sizes.

Tatiana was de D----'s Advocate because she questioned everything to try to make it better. She was always adding to good ideas. She also helped us realize why some ideas where not good which was really helpful at the end of the day.

I learned I can really work well in a group. I also learned it is necessary to question each others ideas to succeed in finding a good one. I learned teamwork is giving and receiving not just controlling everybody. What I learned about the process is it always is about making the "costumer" happy.

Design project-day 3

This game does match our descriptions because it is fun to play and it is not that easy nor that hard. Also it is going to be colorfull and sparkly.

The most powerfull ideas we have are the prizes and how we made them so people cant just take them with out winning. Also the different hole sizes.

At first we wanted to do circles but we would do squares now because it is easier to construct if we choose squares.

What needs to be done to make the model is:
We need to build the model then we paint it and then we make the prizes and put them in the spaces for the prizes we also constructed.

What needs to be done:
1. First we need to cut a large piece of cardboard that will then be cut into 3 equal pieces.
2. In the middle piece of cardboard we will cut out squares of different sizes.
3. We will then fold it so it makes a cube with only 3 sides having the squares in the front.
4. Then we will take another piece of cardboard with the same width as the cube and make it a slope and stick it to the back of the cube.
5. Finally we will create small shelves according to each square size to place the prize.
6. After having the model done we will paint and decorate it with pink and sparkling things.
We will all work together to complete each task.

Other materials we need are paint, glitter, brushes, prizes, bisturi, little bags and maybe duct tape.
Nicole will bring everything except the brushes which Tatiana would bring and I would bring the glitter.

Design project-day 2

Tatianas Drawing: A good thing is it is very creative the butterflies as holes, bad it is harder to put the candy and to get the ball in so it would be very hard.
Nicole's Drawing: A good thing is she has an organized and a bad thing is it might get to repetitive.
My Drawing: A good thing is it is easier to create but it is very dull and boring.

The drawing with the most strengths is Nicole's because it is easy to do easy to understand and play yet not so easy it gets boring.

Details from other model we will include is paint butterflies around the circles from Tatianas idea and my idea for different circle sizes.

Something we would like to add is something to cover up the prizes and to put them in little bags. Something we would like to get out is having the same candy.

Feedback: Make the holes squares not circles so it is easier to do and play as well so there is also margin of error. They thought we constructed it very well and that the prizes where a good idea. Other feedback we received was putting points so when the candy is all won people can keep playing.

Design project-day 1

Tatiana Seinjet and Nicole Theilkul

Define Phase:
1) Who will the game be for?
Elementary girls
2) Difficulty of game?
Medium
3) What makes the game fun?
Candy prizes, different colors, different hole sizes, big and sparkly and better prices each time yo play.

Research Phase:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrT_lAnfwKI: A good thing about this game is that it is fun, you can use different birds and you can control where it goes. A bad thing is that when you throw all the peices then you have to put them back up again which can make it kind of boring.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14uE5jdJZYg: A good thing about this game is everybody knows how to use it and it is very colorfull and interactive which makes it fun. A bad thing is it is kind of hard to do and you can cheat on this game very easily.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irGKDoPWc9U: A good thing about this video is it is really fun and it is not so hard to construct. A bad thing is that you may cheat on this game very easily like just take the prizes, you could also make it harder because it is too easy to play.

Ideation Phase:

Brainstorm: A claw game in which you match the animal with its baby, a game in which you you push 2 things out of different covered toilet paper rolls and if they match you get to get the prices, we had an idea to throw a ball and different sized cones and if they got in you could take the prize that was inside.

The idea we chose was the last one. This game would be fun because it would be very collorfull and you will have different prizes to win, it is also fun because you would have different levels of difficulty it would be easy yet a little bit challenging.

Some things that could go wring with the game is people just grabbing the prizes, some of the circles being to easy and the prizes to run out on that one, people getting to close so it would be too easy, some levels being to hard. To avoid those we could make the prizes go out of like a slide so people cant take them, also give extra prizes for the teacher in case the candy runs out.
